Exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia is not getting a good response from the community. Nationally, the coverage of infants receiving exclusive breastfeeding in 2019 iss 67.74%. This figure has exceeded the 2019 Strategic Plan target of 50%, but based on data from the Aceh Health Profile, the achievement of exclusive breastfeeding in Aceh in 2020 is 59%, which is decreasing from the previous year of 61%. This shows that the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Aceh has decreased. Reviewing the literature on several related literature on the role of midwives on the success of exclusive breastfeeding. This research design is a literature review that collects data or sources related to a particular topic obtained from various sources such as articles, books, internet, and other literature. Of the 10 journals selected for review, all correspond to quantitative studies with 7 journals using a quantitative descriptive research design and 3 journals using a qualitative research design. From this literature study, it is known that the results of the research are similar which states that there is a relationship between the role of midwives in the form of midwife support for the success of exclusive breastfeeding. Based on 10 articles that have been reviewed, it can be concluded that the role of midwives has an effect on the provision and achievement of exclusive breastfeeding for postpartum and nursing mothers.
