ASUHAN KEBIDANAN PADA IBU NIFAS DENGAN MASTITIS

Abstract

Mastitis is an inflammation and then infection of the breast. During the postpartum period, infection and inflammation can occur in mothers, especially in primiparas. The symptoms of mastitis are swollen breasts with pain, red, swollen breasts, sometimes accompanied by pain and heat, and increased body temperature. Mastitis risks the mother not breastfeeding and eventually giving formula milk, causing problems for the baby. The Ministry of Health estimates that one million children die each year from diarrhea, respiratory diseases, other infections because they are not adequately breastfed even though breastfeeding is the best method of providing nutrition to babies. the purpose of this study was able to provide obstetric care in puerperium with indications of mastitis. The research method is a case study, with primary data from the assessment results in the form of subjective data obtained through interviews in the form of complaints felt by the mother and objective data through observation and examination results. The results obtained by the mother complained of swollen, painful and reddened breasts, and the results of the examination obtained an increased body temperature, the breasts looked tense and obtained data analysis of postpartum mothers with mastitis. the management given is in the form of breast compresses, counseling about mastitis, giving drugs in the form of antibiotics and analgesics, fulfilling nutiition. Suggestion: it is necessary to increase knowledge in postpartum mothers about care and correct breastfeeding techniques to prevent mastitis, and to be ready to provide breastfeeding techniques.
