Abstract

This article discusses the important role of parents in the formation of early childhood character, especially during the golden age (0–6 years), which is a crucial period in the physical, cognitive, social-emotional, language, and spiritual development of children. Parents, as the primary and first educators, play a strategic role in shaping children's character through parenting patterns, exemplary behavior, and a supportive family environment. This study uses a library research approach by reviewing various literature sources. The results of the discussion show that children's character is formed from daily interactions with parents, the introduction of good values, and the instilling of positive habits from an early age. The roles of both father and mother are equally crucial in educating children, with the father acting as a moral guide and a friend to the child, and the mother as a protector and provider of basic education. The conclusion of this article emphasizes that the success of character building in children highly depends on the quality of parenting, exemplary behavior, and parental attention within the family environment from early childhood.
