RESPON PEMBERIAN ASAM GIBERELAT (GA3) TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN RUMPUT GAJAH (Pennisetum purpureum)

The purpose of this study was to observe the growth response of elephant grass given different doses of gibberellic acid (GA3). This research was carried out in Cot Kruet Village, Makmur District,
Bireuen Regency from September to November 2021. This type of research is experimental research with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). There were four treatments, namely dose levels,
namely the dose of gibberellic acid: without gibberellic acid/control 0 ppm/l (A), the dose of gibberellic acid 250 ppm/l (B), the dose of gibberellic acid 500 ppm/l (C), the dose of gibberellic acid
gibberellic 750 ppm/l (D). Each treatment was repeated four times, so there were 16 treatment units. The research parameters were plant height (cm), plant diameter (cm), number of stem segments, and root length (cm). Analysis of the data using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the effect if there is Duncan's further test. The results showed a very significant effect (P<0.01) on the growth response of elephant grass plants. The best treatment was the addition of gibberellic acid (GA3) with a dose of 500 ppm/l, namely plant height of 136.20 cm; rod diameter of 1.54 cm; the number of stem segments 6.28 cm; and the root length is 54.92 cm. The study concluded that the administration of gibberellin acid (GA3) had a very significant effect on all the parameters tested. And the best dose is 500 ppm/l.
