MOTIVATION FOR STUDENTS IN RELATION EXTRINSIC LABORATORY PRACTICE WITH LEARNING ABILITY IN FARM LABOR IN NORMAL IN D III MIDWIFERY ALMUSLIM BIREUEN

Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is an issue that is a priority in the health sector, the biggest cause occurs during delivery. One of the things that cause the still high maternal mortality rate is the limited quality of health worker visits from midwives who have passed the competency test approximately 44% from 48 526 in 2016, was formed in the period of education. Factors low quality of education in Indonesia is due to the weakness of the educators in exploring the potential of learners in the sense of a lack of motivation of teachers. The purpose of this study to determine the relationship of extrinsic motivation of students in practical learning laboratory with capabilities in normal delivery care in D III Kebidanan Almuslim 2016. This research is an analytic survey with cross sectional study population in this study were students of fourth semester DIII Midwifery Almuslim, the number of samples of 68 people with a total sampling technique using questionnaires and values APN students. Results were analyzed using bivariate analysis with chi-square test person. From the data analysis of extrinsic motivation on learning relationship with a normal delivery care capabilities in mind that that motivation in the strong category (54.4%), both APN ability (57,4%) analysis results obtained probability value (0.029) <ά = 0, 05. Based on the results of the study concluded that there is a relationship of extrinsic motivation on learning with the ability of normal delivery care. It is recommended that a fellow student learning and mutual support of the motivation of lecturers and the provision of learning tools for any laboratory, in order to improve student achievement.
